About 6Prime
About the comic6Prime is a rehash of a little comic I drew for fun for a few years, starting when I was seven. It was called The Watersons, and it didn't really make sense at all back then, and was overall pretty irrelevant to anything at all. The version you read online these days inherited little more than a few of the characters and their general appearances. 6Prime was started in August 2004, then I canned it and restarted it in January 2007. Everything you currently view online was drawn in 2007 or later. So far I've yet to surpass a rating of PG, but I personally would rate this as PG-13 for mild language here & there (it'll probably get worse later on). If I ever draw anything that I feel is unsafe for work (NSFW for those of you that speak Acronym), it'll most likely be accompanied by a cover page to prevent you from looking at something you might not want other people to see you looking at, because, unfortunately, sometimes it does matter what other people think.
About the website6Prime.net started out as little more than a personal website I used to keep myself entertained from time to time (this was back when I had little of anything resembling a life). It was inspired by a personal website based in Australia that I can't even remember how I found, and would link to if it still existed. This Australian had a link to OOTS on her page, which is what more or less catalyzed my plunge into the world of webcomics. The website ran under a different domain name back then, and had lots of information about me, a bunch of simple little Javascript games I'd written, my own personal blog (of course), and a whole lot of other uesless stuff, I guess. I don't remember much, honestly, and have no hard backups of the original site layout.
About the artworkStarting with comic #34, I draw 6Prime on a Wacom tablet in Adobe Photoshop CS2. The line art is sent to Adobe Illustrator CS2 for Live Trace, which smooths out the rougher lines and generally sharpens everything. I then color the strip and add backgrounds in Photoshop, then send everything back to Illustrator to add text. The whole thing is then sent back to Photoshop one last time to put the whole image together and compress it for viewing on the interbutt.
About the artistMy name is Luke, and I am not an artist. I am actually a college senior majoring in math and minoring in physics. My main premise for producing this comic is that I simply have a story to tell, and I feel that this is the best way to convey my ideas. I think this works well for me since I like to maintain the self-notion that I can be funny on occasion. I am also very wordy.
